Louis Roederer Brut Nature Philippe Starck 2015

2015

Louis Roederer Brut Nature Philippe Starck 2015 is a zero-dosage vintage Champagne from the Cumières vineyards, created in collaboration with Philippe Starck and offering a markedly different expression of the Roederer house.

Louis Roederer Brut Nature Philippe Starck 2015 brings together a particular harvest, a distinctive vineyard origin and an unusually close relationship between wine and design. Created with French designer Philippe Starck, it is a dry, zero-dosage Champagne made from grapes grown in the Cumières hillsides. For anyone interested in the more experimental side of one of Champagne's great family houses, it offers an intriguing departure from the familiar Collection and Cristal ranges. The 2015 vintage matters here. This is not a permanently repeated blend but a Champagne whose identity is attached to a specific year and the Cumières project. Brut Nature means no sweetening dosage is added at the final stage, leaving the wine's underlying structure to speak without that adjustment. In the glass, a light, creamy impression and the suggestion of sun-ripened fruit give a sense of what makes it appealing beyond its striking presentation. Louis Roederer was founded in Reims in 1776 and remains under the direction of the founding family. The estate has built an exceptional vineyard base for a major house, with extensive parcels across the Montagne de Reims, Vallée de la Marne and Côte des Blancs. Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon oversees the cellar and helps shape a collection in which individual vineyard origins increasingly matter. That broader philosophy helps explain the place of Brut Nature Philippe Starck. Collection is a flexible, numbered multi-harvest expression of the house; Vintage and Rosé Vintage explore other geographical and grape-led directions. The Cumières Brut Nature project takes a more tightly defined approach, with a specified harvest and zero dosage at the centre of its identity. Serve this bottle in a generous tulip-shaped glass rather than an icy flute, giving its aromas space to unfold. It would be a thoughtful partner to a simple vegetable tart, delicately roast poultry or a carefully composed mushroom dish, where the food allows the dry style to remain in focus. Choose Louis Roederer Brut Nature Philippe Starck 2015 for a memorable combination of vintage character, Cumières provenance and the deliberate purity of a Champagne without dosage.
