It is 100% Chardonnay from around ten crus across several Champagne subregions, composed of 76% wine from the 2020 harvest and 24% perpetual reserve. Half of the reserve component was kept in oak foudres and half in stainless steel; the wine underwent complete malolactic fermentation, spent five years in the cellars and was released as Brut Nature at 0 g/L dosage. Blanc Singulier Edition 20 follows a different model again, combining the 2020 harvest with a perpetual reserve and being released without dosage. Blanc Singulier Edition 20 is the specialist choice for anyone interested in Ruinart's response to warmer, atypical harvests, perpetual reserve and zero dosage. Release numbers and vintages matter: Blanc Singulier Edition 20 and Dom Ruinart 2013 should be bought and compared as exact editions rather than generic names.
