Perseval-Farge

Editorial profile

Champagne Perseval-Farge is a small family grower estate in Chamery Premier Cru, on the western side of the Montagne de Reims. Current Champagne de Vignerons material records the family on the slopes of Chamery for more than two centuries and gives a present vineyard area of four hectares.

That compact scale makes place unusually important. The current producer record distinguishes sandy-clay slopes from the more clay-limestone mid-slopes and upper sites, giving the estate several soil contexts within a single village rather than a broad multi-region sourcing story.

Why this producer matters

Perseval-Farge is best understood through scale and soil: four hectares in one Premier Cru village, with materially different sandy-clay and clay-limestone positions, and a current portfolio that foregrounds both a soil identity and a named parcel.

That gives the estate a durable editorial story even where the live bottle catalogue is comparatively compact.

Vineyard and environmental direction

Perseval-Farge is currently recorded as Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) certified. The latest Champagne de Vignerons profile also states that the four-hectare vineyard is in organic conversion.

Those are two different statuses. HVE is the current certification explicitly listed; organic conversion describes a transition in progress and is not presented as completed organic certification.

Current and meaningful cuvées

Terre de Sables is currently listed as a Brut Champagne. Its name provides the clearest link to the estate's sandy-soil component in Chamery, but blend, dosage and reserve-wine details are not invented where a current technical sheet is unavailable.

Parcellaire Les Goulats is currently listed as an Extra Brut parcel wine. Its presentation marks a finer level of geographical resolution than the broader estate wine. Exact grape composition, vintage, dosage and élevage remain attached to the release for which a current technical record is available.

Perseval-Farge has historically worked with a wider family of cuvées and with some of Champagne's less-common permitted grape varieties, but historical specifications are not frozen into the 2026 master profile without a current producer-controlled bottle record.

Where the estate produces Coteaux Champenois, those still wines remain a separate appellation from Champagne AOC.

Champagne.co analysis

Perseval-Farge's interest lies in how much variation can be found within a small, single-village estate. Terre de Sables points toward one soil identity, while Les Goulats narrows the focus to a named parcel. That is enough to give the range a clear sense of progression without reconstructing unsupported older cuvées.

The environmental story should be read with equal precision. The estate is HVE certified and in organic conversion; those two facts describe where the domaine is now without predicting the eventual certification outcome.

Buying guidance

Start with Terre de Sables for the broader current estate expression. Choose Parcellaire Les Goulats when a named-site, Extra-Brut bottle is the priority.

For older or less commonly seen Perseval-Farge cuvées, check the exact current release evidence before assuming historical blend or grape information still applies. The small size of the estate makes bottle-level provenance especially useful.
