Laherte Frères Rosé de Meunier Extra Brut
Non-vintage
Laherte Frères Rosé de Meunier Extra Brut is a non-vintage rosé Champagne centred on Meunier, giving a grape-specific, low-dosage route into one of the most varied modern grower ranges south of Épernay.
Laherte Frères Rosé de Meunier Extra Brut is one of the more focused ways into a domaine whose range is deliberately built around differences of grape, place and cellar approach. It is a non-vintage rosé centred on Meunier and presented as Extra Brut, so its identity is more specific than the broad multi-parcel house wines.
Laherte Frères is based in Chavot-Courcourt, south of Épernay, and traces its family winegrowing history to 1889. The vineyard base is highly fragmented, with around 75 parcels, and the modern portfolio is organised into three broad families: Ultradition, Singulières & Originales, and Cœurs de Terroir. That structure moves from wider house blends toward increasingly varietal, low-dosage and site-specific wines.
Rosé de Meunier belongs naturally in the middle of that conversation. Meunier is made visible rather than absorbed into a generic blend, and the rosé format gives the bottle a clear purpose within a range that also includes dedicated Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and heritage-grape expressions.
For a first look at Laherte Frères, Ultradition Brut remains the broadest introduction. Extra Brut Ultradition is useful when the objective is to compare dosage within the core blend. Rosé de Meunier Extra Brut is the more targeted purchase for buyers who specifically want Meunier and rosé together. From there, the Cœurs de Terroir wines narrow the focus further toward individual parcels, while Petit Meslier Extra Brut and Les 7 explore the less common permitted varieties.
The exact release should remain part of the buying decision because vintage base, dosage and reserve composition can evolve across the domaine. What is stable here is the role of the cuvée: a non-vintage, Meunier-led rosé in an Extra Brut register, designed for drinkers who want a more grape-specific expression than the standard house blend.
